What is Emirates ID and what is emirates id status? Emirates ID Card is the main identity card or resident card of all UAE citizens and residents. Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) is responsible for issuing the emirates identity card.

This identification card was created to be used as official identification of a person in order to confirm their full name as well as current address, place of employment, nationality, age, and marital status.

This particular id can be used for proving citizenship in public and private sector facilities such as banks or hospitals, traveling within GCC countries or using airport eGates, paying utility bills or registering vehicles, etc.

Updating details on Emirates ID

To change or update your identity card details and anything else related to an existing valid ID, you should visit and apply at the nearest ICA’s “customer happiness center”.

Here one can learn about the requirements for this process as well as the charges for any expenses requiring payment. Note that any changes regarding an Emirates ID are only made in person so be sure to go to one of the available centers with all original documents (passport and Emirates ID).

Changes that can be made online include changing the name or photo on your new document, note that these details cannot be changed in person but they must be done online at the immigration website.
